In the Tuscaloosa area, a group of master teachers in the APLUS in Math NSF grant at the University of Alabama realized that they had radically grown over the first 4 years of the grant, and this growth was due to coursework and projects but even more due to the relationships built along the way. In an effort to further improve math education in the area, these teachers got together to create a professional learning community they felt would develop pedagogy and content knowledge through relationships and task oriented engagement. This session will provide a brief overview of how the project has worked to date and a few tasks we have used to model the PLC so that participants can construct their own back home.
