The idea of fractional reasoning is one that the education community is still working to define. How do we recognize reasoning? How might we assess fractional reasoning? This session will present a series of Fractional Reasoning assessments for 3rd - 6th grades. The research and design methodology will be discussed and explored. Then, we will examine the assessments themselves and look together at some work samples and videos of students. Finally, we will discuss the intended purposes of the assessments for teachers, coaches, and school and district leadership. Attendees will be provided with full access to the assessment materials.
